YOGA RETREAT IN SANTORINI with Veronika & Mickey

with Veronika & Mickey

Caveland, Santorini

 SEPTEMBER 13 – 17, 2023

Yoga retreat in Santorini in September is a perfect way to boost your energy before the winter. The weather is still pleasantly warm, evenings bit cool, the largest crowds of tourists are mainly gone and the sunsets are the most colorful.

This retreat is a perfect balance between active yoga and various relaxation techniques. Our classes will take place on an outdoor terrace facing the local village and the sea. We will enjoy a daily fresh breakfast in the garden. We will explore the local archaeology, art, cuisine and wine culture during a private tour. This retreat includes also a full body massage, mindful walk on a less touristy know side of the island and plenty of free time for your relaxation.

Our accommodation and the practice will be in Caveland, which is a 300-years old wine estate. In 2011 it has been renovated and opened as a boutique hostel with a mixture of hostel accommodation and private studio caves. It is situated in Karterados village, just 3 minutes drive or 25 minutes walk from the capital Fira. The complex includes numerous lush gardens and a swimming pool.

Accommodation is offered in single ensuite caves, a twin ensuite cave (available if you are 2 friends) or an apartment with 2 single rooms (available if you are 2-3 friends).

Every room is equipped with a kettle, fridge and a cooker. Local grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants are within a walking distance from the property.

I am Veronika, originally from Slovakia. I have been living in Santorini since 2010. I attended my very first yoga class on vacation in Philippines, this was in 2009. I became a yoga teacher in 2012, I completed a 200 hours mindful yoga therapy course with Kathy Ward. Every year I work on deepening my education. I have a diploma in perinatal and baby yoga with Birthlight, I attended a training in yin yoga and numerous courses in yoga related to physiotherapy. In 2022 I competed my 500 hours certification with Jason Crandell.

I have been teaching retreats since 2013, usually at Caveland in Santorini as it is the place that I manage as a boutique hostel.

I usually teach slowly flowing hatha flow classes with an accent on alignment and eccentric strength.

My name is Mickey, and I have been living in Santorini for 27 years. As well as teaching yoga I am also a massage therapist. My journey into yoga began back in 1996, when I experienced my first (and only) ever asthma attack. Once I was hooked, I joined the British School of Yoga and became a Hatha teacher in 2000. A chance meeting introduced me to Dru and I trained over the course of 4 years in Snowdon, Wales to become a Dru Therapist and Teacher, qualifying in 2002.

During the winter I teach classes and courses on the island for locals. And in the summer I hold regular classes on the beach, whilst also providing private sessions for visitors.

Together with Veronika we have been teaching joint retreats for the past 3 years.
