UPSIDE DOWN APPLE CHEESE PIE

The ultimate apple cake. Light, full of flavours and very juicy. The autumn smell that fills your house during the baking is just a great bonus that comes with it.

Ingredients:

Apple layer:

3 big apples/ 4 small apples – cleaned and sliced

4 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon honey

 

Cheese layer:

2 eggs

5 tablespoons sugar

pinch of salt

1/2 cup off Greek yoghurt

1/2-2 cups (about 200 grams) quark cheese : here in Greece I use anthotiro

4 tablespoons flour

 

Directions

Preheat your oven (180 C) and prepare your baking pan, I placed a parchment paper at the bottom of it and greased the walls.

In a frying pan melt the butter and then add apples, cinnamon and some honey. You can add more honey if your apples are sour. Cook for about 5 minutes until they fragrance releases and they are bit soft. Tip them to the bottom of your baking pan.

Using a whisk mixx the eggs with sugar and then all the rest off the ingredient. You should achieve almost runny consistence. Add milk if your mixture is too dense or more flour if it is too watery. Pour it onto apple layer.

Bake for about 50 minutes and let it completely cool off before serving.
